Seda Vertis North: Looking Back at Our Dream Wedding

Hi, everyone! My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada. I’m a writer and managing editor based in Quezon City, Philippines. Welcome to Greta’s Junkyard—a dump of articles on beauty, lifestyle, travel, and more. I started this creative outlet in 2013. And I’ve been using it to document the many milestones in my life—including my dream wedding!

It’s been nearly four years since my husband Cayo and I tied the knot in our village church, Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish, and had our wedding reception in Seda Vertis North.

Since then, we moved into a studio unit in Makati that was near our previous offices, survived a pandemic together, moved into our forever home (also known as the Fraggy Home), got pregnant, and welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Cambria. So many milestones have already happened after. But once in a while, I like to reminisce and look back on our wedding.

A Modern and Minimalist Venue

Seda Vertis North is a modern and stylish five-star hotel located in Quezon City, Philippines. With its prime location in the bustling Vertis North complex, guests have easy access to a wide range of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. In fact, it’s right beside Ayala Mall Vertis North and just a walk away from TriNoma. Moreover, the hotel features spacious and well-appointed rooms, as well as a fitness center and swimming pool. They have dining options such as their restaurant, Misto, and rooftop bar, Straight Up.

Cayo and I chose Seda Vertis North for our wedding reception because we wanted to be practical. Since Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish was just five minutes away, checking in and doing our preparations in the hotel would be convenient. We didn’t want our guests to have a hard time either—especially since some of them flew in from different parts of the world (Canada, New Zealand, Cebu, and Davao). Plus, the hotel had a ballroom big enough to accommodate our 200 guests. Last but not least—the clean and minimalist look of Seda Vertis North incidentally matched the wedding look I was going for!

Our Wedding Reception in Seda Vertis North

The day before the wedding, we checked in our respective rooms. I was given a corner suite. And for easier logistics, they placed Cayo on the same floor about two rooms away. My suite was also connected to my cousin/Bridesmaid’s room! So wedding preparations were convenient and fun since we had a lot of space.

The night before the wedding, I requested Seda Vertis North to deliver breakfast to my room at 6:15 am, since I planned to wake up and shower by 6 am, and my glam team would be arriving anytime between 6:30 to 7 am. From there, time seemed to have flown by so quickly. I found myself ordering room service for everybody’s lunch as well.

Our sit-down dinner was a four-course meal that included Prawn Salad with Mixed Leaf Bouquet and Balsamic Vinaigrette; Cream of Mushroom Soup with Truffle Scent; Roasted US Tenderloin with French Beans, Garlic Mash, and 3-Peppercorn Reduction; and Glazed Chocolate Pave Layered with Matcha Tea Infused Ganache and Raspberry.

For guests who didn’t eat meat, we replaced their main course with Seared Norwegian Salmon with Saffron Mashed Potato, Roasted Bell Pepper, and Coconut Cream Sauce. We also served a special menu for kids—Fried Chicken with Steamed Rice. Seda Vertis North served unlimited coffee and tea throughout the evening, too!

Wedding Venue in Quezon City

There are so many wedding venues to choose from in Quezon City. But Seda Vertis North will always hold a special place in my heart. I love that I get to see the hotel building often, too, since it’s so near our village. If you’re looking to hold a special event in Quezon City, I highly recommend checking out Seda Vertis North.
