Dynamic Duo: Strip Ministry of Waxing and Browhaus Salon

I have a very strict rule when it comes to my eyebrows—and that’s to always have them threaded and cleaned out every two or three weeks. You’d think that getting my eyebrows done frequently would result in me being numb from all the pain it causes, but honestly, each time I do have them cleaned out, I always curse myself for being so brow-obsessed.

Suffer for beauty,” as my mom always says.

Thankfully, I discovered Browhaus in Serendra a few years ago and tried their Classic Threading. Although it’s a little on the pricier side, the results are totally worth it! Plus points that they make the pain super tolerable. I’m not sure if it’s in the kind of thread they use, or their staff are really that good, or both! But it’s what makes you want to come back each time, and stick to them (more than any other brow salon in the Metro).

I think it was only a couple of years back that I found out Strip Ministry of Waxing is their sister company. Though I rarely ever go to waxing salons (I was born practically hairless thanks to my mom’s genes), and because I already had my armpit hair removed via laser in college (save for the required annual touch-ups, as I’ve learned from The Spa), I never really had a reason to.

Last week however, I got an invite to try out their newest service called Strip ICE, which is a more advanced technology of laser hair removal. Since I’m due for my yearly touch-up, it was perfect timing! The best and unique part about their service is that it’s virtually painless. When I had my laser hair removal in college, I remember always feeling a slight pain (like my armpits were being stapled), but Strip ICE feels like your armpits are being massaged instead. Kind of strange, but in a good way! Right after my session with Strip, I decided to have my brows done in Browhaus as well.

It’s so convenient that both Strip Ministry of Waxing and Browhaus Salon are now open in the Fashion Hall of Megamall, for those who live and work nearby. They’re definitely a dynamic duo every kikay girl needs.
