After more than two years of blogging, I think it’s safe to say that I am very obsessed about eyebrows. If I only had less than five minutes to do my makeup, I’d skip everything else except my brows. My tiny kikay kit alone houses four different products—two kinds of brow pencils, brow powder, and a brow mascara.
Nothing gives me more confidence than having a strong brow game.Which is why when it comes to getting my brows cleaned up, I’m very picky about the place. I make sure that whoever touches my brows really knows what she’s doing.
I even remember the first time I had my brows done—it was in fourth year high school, and I was scheduled to have my graduation picture taken that week so my mom accompanied me to a nearby salon that offered brow threading. My mom made sure to watch the person doing my brows, because if there’s one thing about my mom, she’s even more particular about eyebrows than I am. She always tells the person doing my brows to just clean it up and not touch the shape, because I already have a nice eyebrow shape to begin with. And after several trips with her, I finally learned on my own how to nitpick my own brows and make sure they stay the same shape.
However, I’ve had a few instances with different threading places where I got disappointed with the job done, because my brows would either end up too thin or not pantay. And after trying out a number of different places in the last nine years, I’ve finally shortlisted them. Below are my top eyebrow threading places in Manila!
8. Waxbar Waxing Salon
This is a small waxing salon along Malingap Street (near Maginhawa), located in the same building as Breakfast and Pies and Pino. My mom and sister were the ones who discovered this place and had their brows threaded, so I tried it out as well. I think their brow threading is about Php 180.
7. Lay Bare Ybardolaza
Lay Bare was actually the first ever waxing place I was introduced to. I was in college, and my friend asked me to accompany her to the Lay Bare branch in Wilson area, San Juan. This was prior to undergoing laser hair removal for my underarms, so I would have my underarms waxed by Lay Bare and my brows threaded as well. There was this one staff who I always preferred doing my brows, and when I found out she was transferred to the branch in Ybardolaza (near Timog and Tomas Morato area), I even followed her. Lay Bare used to charge Php 180 for brow threading, but I think the price increased to Php 200 but I’m not so sure. It might depend on the branch you visit.
6. Browlab Market Market
I used to visit Browlab back when I was still working in Bonifacio Global City. They offer Basic Brow Clean Up for Php 180. Meanwhile, their Brow Shape and Clean is Php 340, which I find very affordable.
5. Lash Wishes UP Town Center
I’ve been to this place a couple of times to get lash extensions and to get my brows done. They have a Brow Corner where they offer basic brow cleaning for Php 180 as well.
4. Dashing Diva inside Beauty Bar, Glorietta 2
I stumbled upon Dashing Diva’s eyebrow threading service yesterday when Brow Lounge in Glorietta was full, so I googled and discovered that Dashing Diva in Beauty Bar apparently cleans up brows, too. So I went and was pretty satisfied with the turnout. Their price is slightly higher at Php 250.
3. Brow Lounge
I first tried out their branch in Megamall, and was so happy with the results. I also visited their branch in Glorietta a couple of times, although I prefer their Megamall branch better. They offer different brow services, but I always get Brow Tidy, which is Php 180.
2. Manos Nail Lounge
This is one of my favorite places to visit—both for getting my nails and my eyebrows done. Their staff are the friendliest, and they really do a good job cleaning up my brows for just Php 180 or Php 200 I think.
1. Browhaus
This is hands down the best place to go to if you need to have your eyebrows done. Their staff are all well-trained, and for some reason, it’s the least painful brow threading service I’ve ever tried. I’ve been to their branches in Serendra and Megamall, and I know they also have one in Greenbelt 5. Their Basic Brow Shaping (Classic Threading) is Php 650, which I think for me is worth it because it’s not as painful and you’re sure to get perfect brows. But if you’re on a budget, you can try out the other places I mentioned!
So those are my tried and tested eyebrow threading places that I’ve had a pleasant experience in—meaning I love how my brows turned out after the service. What about you guys? Do you have your own top eyebrow threading places in Manila? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
