I think it’s pretty evident, especially on my Instagram, that ever since I got back from the States I’ve been working out a little more—and it wasn’t something that I intentionally planned. It sort of just happened because while I was there, I noticed that I was gaining a little weight from all the delicious food I was eating (I developed an obsession with Korean BBQ and Mexican dishes).
And I’ve always been the type of person to do something about it, because I hate feeling insecure about my body and I address that by doing cardio and core workouts. At the same time, I love the feeling of a good workout, and I guess when you grow up an athlete, your body really looks for that burn. So in my case, while I was in California, I started running 4 miles every other day.I really wanted to be able to bring that enthusiasm for working out back here in the Philippines, but I wasn’t sure how. I wanted to maintain the running, but I also wanted to go back to yoga and try other fitness classes.
Which is why it was so timely that GuavaPass introduced themselves, because they make booking fitness classes all over Metro Manila so much easier and more convenient. I just downloaded the app on my phone, signed up, and started booking classes based on my preferred location and what type of workout I was looking for!
They’ve partnered with so many studios like Beyond Yoga, Plana Forma, 360 Fitness Club, Crossfit MNL, and Elorde. So no matter where you are, for sure there’s a partner studio that’s conveniently near you. A couple of weeks ago, after going for a run at the UP Academic Oval, I wanted to finish my day strong so I booked a vinyasa class at Beyond Yoga in Il Terrazzo. Last week, I came from an event in Makati and decided to wait for the Cupcake to finish work so we could have a dinner date. While waiting, I booked another vinyasa class at Bliss Yoga in Legazpi Village. Then the following day, after another event in Century City Mall, I decided to do the C.O.R.E. Fitness of Elorde Gym along Makati Avenue.
It’s that easy and hassle-free! You only need to subscribe to the app (I believe there’s even an ongoing promo) and GuavaPass takes care of everything. From what I read, you can book a specific partner studio up to 3 times in a month. This is ideal for someone who doesn’t want to commit to just one fitness studio, and would like to explore different ways to work out (like me). And like I said, if you’re on-the-go, you can squeeze in a little workout wherever you may be, because for sure there will be a fitness class or studio that’s near you.
