Hello, hello! Welcome to another blog post on Greta’s Junkyard. This time, it’s about a self-shoot studio where we got to update our family portrait. But first! If you’re new here, my name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada. I’m a writer and managing editor based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I’m also a wife to Cayo, a first-time mom to a toddler daughter named Cambria, and a veteran fur mom to a dog named Booboo and a cat named Bellatrix.
Greta’s Junkyard is a creative outlet I started in 2013 as a way to dump articles on my favorite topics. These are mostly articles on beauty, travel, and lifestyle. It’s also where I occasionally document the many milestones in my life!
Updating Our Family Portrait in a Self-Shoot Studio
Living in the digital era has ignited a new trend — captivating aspiring creatives and shutterbugs alike. And that’s the rapid rise of self-shoot studios! Embracing the convenience and creativity of these gives everyone the perfect blend of affordability, privacy, and artistic control over photography and videography sessions.
The last time my family and I had portrait photos taken was during Cambria’s sixth month. We also had some during her first birthday party. However, now that she’s 18 months old, I wanted new ones together with our fur babies. Luckily, I discovered that Little Owls, the photographer from her first birthday party, recently opened a self-shoot studio called Roost Studio, located just right outside our village.
Fortunately, our “B-bies” (Briebrie, Booboo, and Bellatrix) who I often call the #CouncilOfCute, cooperated. This made it so easy to take our own photos with Roost Studio’s Spinorama. The Spinorama lets you enjoy the entire studio exclusively to yourself, with various little areas to explore, all at a pocket-friendly rate! You can choose between the 30-minute or 1-hour unlimited shoot options to perfectly suit your needs.
Our New Photos
Thanks to Roost Studio, I now have new photos to frame for our home, the #FraggyHome, as well as use as my phone and laptop wallpaper!
