I’ve been dying to write a review about my favorite lipstick ever—Ofra Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick, which honestly for me has the best matte liquid lipstick formula. Now that I’m on a holiday break, I finally found the time to swatch my favorite shades and come up with a quick review.
For those who aren’t familiar with Ofra yet, it’s a brand from the United States that was founded by Ofra Gaito, a professional makeup artist who eventually established a manufacturing plant and began producing a full skincare and makeup line of well-formulated products in 1994.
Ofra Cosmetics is currently a leading manufacturer in skincare and makeup, and is the top supplier of beauty kits to cosmetology schools in the United States. That being said, Ofra became one of the pioneers of matte liquid lipsticks and has perfected their formula throughout the years. Their Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick lives up to its name—highly-pigmented, lasts for more than six hours, and has a matte finish that doesn’t dry the lips. It’s my go-to lipstick every time I have an event to attend. Even after eating or drinking several times, I’m confident that my Ofra liquid lipstick won’t feather. It’s no surprise that beauty junkies, like myself, are buying the lipsticks like candy!
There are more than 20 shades available, but I decided to swatch my Top 9: Sao Paolo, Bel Air, Pasadena, Mocha, Laguna Beach, Rio, Atlantic City, Santa Ana, and Mina.
Since I’m a fan of nude, neutral and natural looks, the first six shades super fit my style. But once in a while, I like going dark or vampy that’s why I also wear Atlantic City, Santa Ana, or Mina.
If you want a nude shade that’s nearly skin tone-like, Sao Paolo is perfect. I normally wear this shade with dark brows and smokey eyes. Bel Air is a peachier version of Sao Paolo, while Pasadena is a mix of Mocha and Laguna Beach. Mocha is a very neutral shade that goes with any look, while Laguna Beach is my all-time favorite. Rio, I like to wear during the day because I feel like it brightens up my whole face.
The last three shades look gorgeous in the evening, and I’ve gotten compliments countless times whenever I wear these shades.
One thing you have to know about these lipsticks, as with most makeup, is that the color tends to change depending on your skin’s pH level. If you’re acidic, the shade appears to be darker than usual. But it doesn’t really change drastically, so I wouldn’t be concerned about it.
To remove the lipstick, I just use a makeup remover to wipe it off completely. You may need more than one cotton ball to remove the darker shades.
