With June right around the corner, the Cupcake and I are less than four months away from our big day! Since we booked most of our suppliers early on, it was more of a waiting game for us the past couple of months. But now that the date is nearing, things are starting to move or happen quickly like:
Our Pre-Nup Photo Shoot
Last May 10, we had our pre-nup photo shoot, where we were initially worried we’d be stiff and awkward, but turned out to be immensely fun because our supplier (I’ll reveal them soon!
) made it incredibly comfortable and easy. Since our pre-wedding video shoot was held at the beach where we played Ultimate Frisbee (which happens to be where our love story started), The Cupcake and I wanted a casual and cozy feel for our photos—to capture our love for staying at home and just spending quality time with our families and each other. I can’t wait to show you guys the official photos soon, but if you watch my Instagram highlights, you might just catch a sneak peek!Fittings for My Entourage
My bridal entourage had their measurements taken last February, and this month was the first of their fittings. The gowns are still in their rough drafts, but seeing the colors that I chose slowly come to life made me all the more excited! I can’t wait to see the final outcome of everyone’s gowns. I was really particular about them choosing the exact style or design they wanted, so that they’d feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day as well. Can you guys guess what color their gowns will be? Hahaha!
Completing Documents for Our Marriage License
The Cupcake and I also began putting together all the documents needed in securing a marriage license. These include:
- an accomplished application form (which I downloaded from here)
- a passport-sized photo
- residence certificate or CEDULA
- CENOMAR
- birth certificate
- seminar on social service and family planning
Since we’re doing a Catholic wedding, we also needed our Baptismal Certificate and Confirmation Certificate. Our Pre-Cana Seminar with CEFAM counts as the required Wedding Seminar that’s conducted by the parish where we’ll be exchanging our vows.
Finalizing the Wedding Invite Design
I also mentioned on Instagram that I’m the luckiest bride in the world to have the most talented sister as my Maid of Honor. Apart from the wedding logo and branding she crafted, she’s also responsible for the design and layout of our wedding invitations. We’re currently finalizing and proofreading everything, before I send them out for printing in June.
Ordering my Bridal Shoes
Last but not the least for this update is that I already received the bridal shoes that the Cupcake ordered online from Kate Spade, which my cousins (my bridesmaids), and Uncle and Aunt (our principal sponsors) brought home from their vacation in New York just this month. Since my style has always been very minimalist, I wanted my shoes to translate this as well—and seeing the Sela Heels from Kate Spade felt like “the one” just by looking at it. I literally have been sleeping with the shoebox on my bedside table, because I’m that giddy—and also because it reminds me to walk in them once in a while to start breaking them in.
So that’s my wedding update for now. I have a feeling things will start to get much more hectic in the next few weeks. Work has been crazy busy as usual, plus I recently counted the weekends I have left before the wedding, and it’s kind of pressuring to know that it’s not that many anymore. I’m hoping and praying that things go smoothly, that we don’t need to worry much about anything, and that we learn to let go of things we have no control over. That’s it for now! Hope you guys enjoyed reading this quick update. Until the next one!
