A couple of weeks ago, I attended a Wellness Party in One Life Studio hosted by Fruit Magic as they recently celebrated their 23rd birthday and incidentally, also launched their line of cold-pressed juices called Pure Nectar.
It came as a bit of a surprise that Fruit Magic already turned 23 years old, but then again we go way back when I was still a student in Poveda.
On days when my mom would fetch me and we’d cross the street to Robinsons Galleria to eat merienda, Fruit Magic was usually one of our staple choices. We’d watch as they would place fresh fruits into these large juicers, and I’d enjoy a cup of fresh orange or carrot juice. It’s safe to say that even as a little girl, I’ve always loved drinking fresh juices and up until now, I gravitate towards it. In fact, when the whole juice cleanse detox thing became a trend, I was all on board. To date, I’ve done it thrice.
Anyway, that process of Fruit Magic where they made the juice right in front of you was made obsolete because through research, they discovered that you don’t get 100% of the fruit’s nutrients anymore, especially when the fruit has dried up. So they changed the process by harvesting fresh fruits daily and pressing them immediately to ensure you get all the benefits from the fruits, which are then delivered to their channels the following day. The juices are kept in a unique container that keeps them fresh and chilled, so you’re still able to consume 100% of the vitamins and minerals present.
Being one of the pioneers of cold-pressed juices in the country, Pure Nectar has become my favorite. In fact, there are days I would crave for their Coconut Water, so I’d really go out of my way to look for the nearest Fruit Magic stall (even if it meant walking from my office in Legaspi Village to their stall in Landmark Makati).
The Wellness Party was definitely full of insight for me as different talks on health, hair and skincare, and overall well-being were discussed. It was a nice wake up call, especially after having been an athlete my whole life, who now barely has time to work out or exercise because of work, the blog, and an unhealthy relapse towards WWE. But there’s something about Pure Nectar that makes me want to be healthy, and with at least one bottle a day, I can strive a little harder to eat healthier and possibly get back to doing yoga or going for a run.
