Paprika Cosmetics Matte and Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette Review and Makeup Look

When it comes to doing my makeup looks, I tend to play it safe by sticking to the usual brown and pink eyeshadow palettes. I’m sure you guys have noticed it on Instagram, especially because I like to alternate my Too Faced Chocolate Bar and The Balm Cosmetics Nude Dude Volume II. Rarely do I ever go outside of my comfort zone and use colors like reds, oranges, or yellows.

So when I received the Paprika Cosmetics Matte and Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette, I was a little apprehensive to use it. Just seeing all the bold shades at first glance made me question if I could even pull off such colors. But thanks to Karina (my friend and colleague from Calyxta) who volunteered to swatch and road test the product before it was even available in the market (you can read her review here), I was convinced to try it out!

One thing you’ll notice about the product is its fiery packaging, which was designed locally by a design studio based in Manila. It’s actually the first thing that attracted me to the palette as soon as I took it out from its delivery bag. The product itself was manufactured in Korea, which speaks a lot about its good quality.

Upon swatching it, I was surprised that one swipe created a rich color on my arm. It’s a good mix of matte and shimmery hues, and it really does seem intimidating at first—but don’t let it discourage you from missing out on a really good palette to have!

To be honest, I had so much fun mixing and matching colors together that would create a wearable, everyday look. For the makeup look I did in this post, I used the bottom two colors and the fourth to the last color (on my arm).

After lining my lids with a black liquid eyeliner and applying falsies, it was easy to pair with a light bronze-y blush and a dark copper brown lipstick shade. Check out how I did my makeup look using Paprika’s palette!

I’m already looking forward to creating more looks (and maybe even taking up a hotter notch next time!). Paprika Cosmetics’ Matte and Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette is available at Calyxta for only Php 1,695.
