Hi, everyone! Welcome to another article on Greta’s Junkyard. My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada and I’m a writer and managing editor based in Metro Manila. I’m also a wife to Cayo and a first-time mom to a toddler daughter named Cambria. If you’re new here, Greta’s Junkyard is a creative outlet I started in 2013.
Here, I often dump articles on beauty, lifestyle, travel, and more. Occasionally, it’s also where I document the many milestones in my life. If you’re a mom like me looking to buy a no-frills, all-around smartphone that doesn’t break the bank, I highly recommend checking out the realme C53!How the realme C53 Helps a Busy Momma Like Me
As a full-time working mom with no helper or nanny, taking care of Cambria can be quite a challenge. This is why I sometimes resort to using my phone to let her listen to her favorite songs or watch a few minutes of Ms. Rachel. Especially when we’re in the car! However, when I need my phone for work or more urgent matters, I’d have to borrow Cayo’s phone for Cambria’s use. So I’ve thought about getting Cambria her own phone. This way, I can also leave it with my parents on days they have to babysit her while I’m at the office.
Charge Like a Champion
The realme C53 is the fastest-charging, entry-level smartphone of the brand. In fact, it charges almost twice as fast compared to regular 18W charging found in most competitor smartphones. So it can be charged up to 50% in just 31 minutes and up to 100% in 88 minutes! Moreover, the battery itself lasts really long. It ranges from either up to 86 hours of music streaming, up to 36 hours of phone calls, or up to 16 hours of YouTube playback, as well as 38 hours of standby.
Additionally, it offers 128 GB of storage that allows up to 2 TB. And as a mom who takes photos and videos of her baby’s every move throughout the day, this is such a huge win for me.
Sleek and Stylish
The realme C53 features a 7.49mm Ultra Slim Design. I love pulling it out of Cambria’s bag because of how sleek and stylish it looks. In addition, it has a modern squared-off body with rounded edges at the corners for easy grip. It even comes with a 6.7” HD+ with a maximum brightness of 450 nits and a high 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. Not bad at all for its price! The realme C53 has a 90Hz Display as well. And it’s paired with a faster touch sampling or touch response rate of 180Hz. It comes in two classic colors: Mighty Black and Champion Gold.
Capture More Memories and Achieve More with the realme C53
As I said, as a mom, I always document every single milestone of Cambria’s life. After all, she’s growing up so fast right before my eyes. Because the realme C53 boasts a Unisoc T612 Processor that allows dual standby (two 4G SIM Cards) with a 12nm architecture that provides sufficient power efficiency, I can do so much with the phone. I can take and store hundreds of quality photos and videos, too.
The Dynamic RAM Expansion is available out of the box with up to 6 GB or up to 12 GB total RAM. This allows me to multitask with ease! And if you need more storage, you can do what I did. I used a 2 TB micro-SD card in its dedicated slot to expand the storage.
Lastly, the rear camera of the phone has a high-resolution 50 MP AI camera that utilizes realme’s usual camera features. It includes the standard Photo Mode, Night Mode, and 50 MP Mode, among others. It’s also fined-tuned with realme’s own color reproduction algorithms for better overall image quality! Not to mention, the C53’s Dewdrop Notch is an 8 MP Selfie Camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and an FOV of 78°. This is paired with the usual camera UI features for great-looking selfies. As for videos, it’s able to record 720p at 30fps.
Conclusion
Overall, I think the realme C53 is a great and affordable phone to consume media as well as take quality photos and videos. If you’re considering getting your child his or her first phone, I recommend it. Or if you yourself need an extra phone to use for work, which I do because I like to separate my work-related apps from my personal phone, then the realme C53 is a good option.
