Although the contouring trend has long been a thing, I have to admit that I only joined the bandwagon late last year. I’m not really sure why, but I think one of the reasons was because contouring and highlighting intimidated the crap out of me.
Two of my insecurities are my round face and double chin—though makeup artists tell me I have a small face, I’m not a fan of its shape (especially in certain angles).
Learning how to contour showed me that making my face look slimmer is actually possible, and ever since, contouring was a staple in all of my makeup looks. For those of you who also feel intimidated by the trend, Maybelline has got contouring made easy with its first ever contouring line–V-Face Contour by FACE STUDIO, which comes with the V-Face Duo Stick (Php 499), V-Face Duo Powder (Php 499), and V-Face Blush Contour (Php 399).
They recently sent over the products for me to try, and even challenged me to cop a celebrity contoured look: Kylie Jenner!
My initial thoughts? I love how creamy and easily blendable the Contour Stick is. Even if you leave it on your face for a few minutes to finish off the rest of your contour lines, it’s still easy to blend unlike other formulas. The color is a little on the warm side, but I’m happy to report that it didn’t look orange-y on me. The other side of the stick comes with a Strobing end, but I wasn’t able to use it yet. I’ll try it out next time! Since the Duo Stick has a cream formula, make sure to set it with the Duo Powder and if you want extra color on your cheeks, the blush on the Duo Blush Contour comes with a very flattering pink shade that gives just enough flush.
What do you guys think of my Kylie Jenner-inspired contour look?
