I first met Monica Maceda, owner of I Do Nails Nail Service, exactly a year ago when she agreed to sponsor Greta’s Junkyard and run a simple giveaway for my readers. It was also then that I first experienced using gel polish instead of regular ones, and from there I learned to be more adventurous when it comes to doing my nails.
The things I love most about I Do Nails are the variety of their polishes, and how it always introduces me to new and exciting ways of decorating my nails. Not to mention, the staff is very friendly and professional—trained by Monica herself.
Whenever I visit the nail salon, I always get into a long conversation with Monica that it feels like we’ve been good friends for a while now despite only meeting last year. Coincidentally, we have so many common friends and her cousin happens to be my batch mate in high school.
Seeing her accomplishments and achievements at a young age reflect in her business—because I Do Nails recently opened its second branch in Tuscany at McKinley Hill last month (which is much nearer to my office! Yay!). I visited the nail spa last week and it didn’t fail to meet my expectations. It has a similar theme compared to its first branch in Eastwood Mall, and despite it being smaller, it has a more intimate and home-y feel. The couches are more plush, I felt more snug, and it was such a nice way to end my stressful day—relaxing amidst the comforting sounds of rain.
I chose to try one of the newer nail polish designs—foil. You can choose a base color—Monica recommends blue, black, or pink. I chose pink to give off a Lisa Frank vibe. After applying the nail polish, they then started decorating my nails with the colorful foil.
Look how pretty it turned out!
