Manila Bay Cruise Date with the Cupcake

Do you guys remember that scene in The Parent Trap (starring Lindsay Lohan) where they got their parents to go on a date inside a small ship to remake their wedding? It was a quiet dinner for two with their butler and nanny acting as waiter and waitress. Since then, it was always one of my little dreams to go on a similar date.

This little dream was fulfilled recently when Sun Cruises treated the Cupcake and I to a complimentary dinner while going on a Manila Bay cruise.

I loved everything about it! The view was fantastic—you could see the Ferris wheels of SM MOA and Star City. Since we went on a weeknight, we were only 10 in the ship (not including our servers). There was a live musician that played all night and even accommodated our requests. At one point, we walked to the front deck and watched the sea.

In a way, it was really cheesy and romantic. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It gave the Cupcake and I a chance to get away from the stress of work, and to just enjoy each other’s company. Though I got a little dizzy from the slightly big waves and the sometimes odd smell (I suffer from vertigo after all), I still enjoyed the trip. I think it’s a one-of-a-kind date you should experience with your special someone.
