Last February 4 was such an exciting day for me and for Maybelline, because not only was it the last leg of the #MaybellineNYFWxGretasJunkyard campaign, the brand introduced its newest products (the White Super Fresh Liquid Powder, Creamy Matte Lipstick Line, and the HyperMatte Dip Liquid Liner) AND Maybelline Philippines‘ first Filipina #MaybellineGirl, Georgina Wilson, whom I got to do an exclusive interview with!
Before I share my experience sitting down with Georgina, let me talk about the products first. I’m super duper excited about two things: the White Super Fresh Liquid Powder and the Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice.
The White Super Fresh powder is one of the most popular pressed powders nationwide, because of its promise to keep you fresh and shine-free for up to 12 hours. I’ve used it a few times, and true to its word (despite having oily skin), it does keep my face fresh-looking all day without the need to retouch. The White Super Fresh Liquid Powder is a compelling innovation because it has a consistency of a liquid foundation but once applied, has a matte, powdery finish that blends amazingly on the skin. I road tested it during the event, so be sure to watch my interview with Georgina to see how it looks.
Another product I’m excited to have is the Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice. More than the staying power (I was surprised it stayed on for more than six hours), I love, love, love how the shade looks on me. Georgina and I were both wearing it in the photo below, except that she mixed hers with Maybelline’s Lip Gradient.
So anyway, now that I’ve gushed about Maybelline’s newest products, allow me to gush about my interview with Georgina Wilson! To be honest, I wasn’t expecting at all to be one of the top 15 bloggers to be chosen to do the interview with her. You can’t imagine my giddiness when I received an e-mail from the Maybelline team! Georgina has always been someone that I admired and looked up to since I was in high school, because more than a breathtaking face, she had the brains and determination to achieve her dreams. I’ll also never forget a quote she once said, which I have pinned on my cork board at home: “Align your dreams with your talents. If they don’t align, then work really hard. Hard work is the number one thing. Nothing comes easy.” It was always this quote that pushed me to give my all in everything that I did, and gave me the mindset that if I was lacking in the talent or brains department, I’d make up for it with hard work and determination.
Which is why this interview meant so much to me! Meeting Georgina is something I can finally cross off my bucket list, and though the video below perfectly captures how awkward I can get (LOL!), I’m so thankful it was immortalized by the amazing team at Artisano Studio:
