Hi, everyone! My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada and I’m a writer based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I’m also the Managing Editor of Modern Parenting under One Mega Group. The past two months were quite busy for our editorial team. This is because we put together a special print magazine in time for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day!
The print magazine features a double cover — Andi Manzano-Reyes and Bianca Gonzalez-Intal on one and Nico Bolzico together with his daughters Thylane and Maëlys on the other.
Modern Parenting’s previous print magazines
In 2021, we launched the first-ever print issue of Modern Parenting. It was called the 100 List because we featured 100 families and how they navigated the pandemic. We even had a very intimate event in Rustan’s Makati. That time, I was seven months pregnant and had just joined the team!
Then, in 2022, we put together our second print issue, which had a star-studded cover. It included Dr. Z and Aivee Teo and the Aivee Leaguers — Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Cat Arambulo-Antonio, Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez, Anthony Semerad, Sam Pinto-Semerad, and Sarah Lahbati-Gutierrez. The magazine was revealed through a sophisticated affair held in Aruga by Rockwell.
A special double cover for Modern Parenting’s latest print magazine
Just in time for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day this 2023, our team worked on a special double-cover issue where we featured modern moms and dads with the most inspiring and heartwarming stories. And I truly enjoyed helping put everything together.
Unlike our previous print issues where I had just joined the editorial team in 2021 and then was busy adjusting to motherhood in 2022, this time I was more involved in putting the magazine together.
From writing and editing to drafting the page plan and proofing, I learned so much about the whole process. And it is as fun and fulfilling as I expected it to be! It truly is a dream come true and sometimes, I still can’t believe that I get to do this. I’m so grateful to have the coolest boss in our Editor-in-Chief and the most hardworking and dynamic editorial team.
