Hi, everyone! Welcome to another article on Greta’s Junkyard. This is a blog I started in September 2013 that serves as a dump of all my favorite things. Topics include mostly fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle. My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada and I’m a writer and editor based in Metro Manila. I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of The Metro Edit, your curated source of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in the Metro. As someone who has followed Karimadon since my high school days in Poveda, it was an honor to be invited to their latest event at SEVA Dining where they launched a New Weave with Malingkat.
Growing Up with Karimadon
It’s always nice being a part of a brand’s milestones — especially when you grew up with them! I remember Karimadon being one of my go-to stores whenever I needed a dress for formal events — from debuts to weddings! The local brand always had timeless and versatile designs fit for special occasions.
Moreover, Karimadon creates elegant and sophisticated clothing collections. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and classic designs, the brand has carved a niche in the fashion industry, offering a range of affordable looks for women.
A New Weave
They recently launched a new collection called New Weave with Malingkat. It features four modern dresses infused with handwoven fabrics. Each design comes in elegant colors perfect for a variety of events.
There’s Mutya, Diwa, Tala, and Dalisay. Tala, in particular, can be styled in numerous ways. It can also grow with you if you’re an expectant mom — just like how the designer, Embi Nicolas, showed off her baby bump in the dress during the launch.
My Karimadon Pick: Dalisay
During the event, where I got to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, we were all asked to pick a dress we could take home. I instantly fell in love with Dalisay (in Black) because of the feminine sleeves. I also chose this dress because of the number of ways I can style and wear it!
After all, a little black dress is an indispensable wardrobe staple. The Dalisay can transition from casual to formal or day to night — with simple accessorizing.
I can’t wait to wear it already! If you want to see the rest of the designs, visit Karimadon’s official website or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
