Since the enhanced community quarantine started last March 14 to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, I haven’t gone out of our condo unit at all. I suffer from asthma and my husband thinks I might be high risk, so I’ve had to find ways to do our groceries and shop for essentials online. Even before the enhanced community quarantine, I normally buy from LazMart, but due to the volume of orders, a lot of the usual things I buy were out of stock.
Thankfully, I found other options, and in case this might help anyone (especially since the enhanced community quarantine has been extended until April 30), here’s a list of shops I have consistently been ordering from. They can all deliver within Metro Manila in 2-3 business days.
MEATS – Rare Food Shop
Website: https://rarefoodshop.com
I’m always able to buy our staples like chicken breast fillet, beef belly, and pork cubes.
FRUITS, VEGGIES, AND EGGS – Dizon Farms
Website: http://dfdelivers.net
I recently discovered that Dizon Farms has an online store, and I got to order our usual carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and potatoes. I was also able to add tomatoes, calamansi, bananas, and fresh eggs.
MILK – Holly’s Milk
Website: http://www.hollysmilk.com
Their website isn’t an online shop, but I directly ordered from their Instagram account here. You can text them through the number in the poster as well. Deliveries are done via GrabExpress or LalaMove.
PET ESSENTIALS – Pet Warehouse PH
Website: https://www.petwarehouse.ph
I ordered twice during the enhanced community quarantine, and bought food for both Booboo and Bellatrix, plus cat litter and other essentials that my pets were running low on.
GROCERIES – Landers
Website: https://www.landers.ph
If you’re a Landers member, it might be hard to find delivery slots during the day. Here’s what I did twice already, and it worked both times: I added everything to my cart and left them there. I made sure my delivery address and credit card were saved for faster checkout. At 12:01am, I checked out and was able to get a delivery slot on the next business day available.
True enough, I got my groceries on the scheduled delivery date. The only downside is that there were a couple of items that I ordered that became out of stock, but Landers processed the refund right away.FROZEN AND READY-TO-EAT FOOD – Cardinal Cuisine
Website: https://cardinalcuisine.com
During the first weekend of the enhanced community quarantine and I still didn’t know where to buy groceries online aside from LazMart, we ordered frozen and ready-to-eat food from Cardinal Cuisine. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was their Callos.
OTHER LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT ARE OPERATIONAL:
Star Cookies PH – I ordered a few boxes of their classic chocolate chip cookies, and it was delivered via GrabExpress. To order, you can fill up their form here.
Mama Jessie’s Kesong Puti – My mom has fresh but limited stocks of kesong puti available, in case you’d like to order. Just send a message on Facebook here. Payments can be made via BDO, BPI, PayPal, GCash, or PayMaya, and deliveries are done via LalaMove.
If you know of any other local businesses selling food and other essentials, please feel free to leave them in the comments! I hope my list was able to help you guys. And if you can or are able to, please thank the delivery guys and riders by giving them a token of appreciation. Aside from giving tip, my husband and I prepare simple food packs like instant coffee, corned beef, and pancit canton—and it always, always puts a smile on their faces.
Sending everyone virtual hugs during these unprecedented times. Let’s help and support each other in any way that we can.
