Hi, everyone! Welcome back to another article on Greta’s Junkyard. This blog I started in 2013 is basically a dump of my favorite things — mostly beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle. My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada and I’m a writer and editor based in Quezon City. I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of The Metro Edit, your curated source of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in the Metro. On top of being a career woman, I’m a wife to Cayo, a fur mom to Booboo and Bellatrix, and a first-time mom to a toddler daughter named Cambria. Recently, Cayo and I were invited to Netflix’s special screening of Atlas at Bonifacio High Street Central Square.
And it was such a fun experience!About Netflix’s Atlas
Netflix’s Atlas is a futuristic action film starring Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, and Mark Strung. Jennifer Lopez plays Atlas Shepherd, an intelligent analyst grappling with the trauma of her past. And in a world where artificial intelligence has taken control, Atlas must confront her fears. She teams up with an unlikely ally to stop an impending AI apocalypse.
Additionally, the film explores themes of human resilience, the ethics of AI, and the complexities of warfare in a technologically advanced society. Directed by Brad Peyton, the movie promises intense action sequences, a gripping storyline, and a thought-provoking take on humanity’s future.
Make it a Movie Date at Home
I definitely enjoyed watching Netflix’s Atlas. For me, the blend of sarcastic humor amidst the intense action scenes was a refreshing twist. It provided much-needed comic relief and made the characters more relatable. The film’s dynamic also reminded me a lot of Big Hero 6, with its perfect mix of heart, humor, and futuristic elements. Moreover, the characters and their emotional journeys made it easy to empathize with them, drawing me deeper into the story. It’s a thrilling ride that balances action with heartfelt moments, making it a must-watch.
If you and your partner love action films and are looking to have a movie date at home, I highly recommend Netflix’s Atlas! As soon as the movie ended, I texted my mom that she should watch it with my dad.
