If you happen to work in BGC and always pass Kalayaan, you will notice a small shop along the avenue called Juicesabel that offers a unique menu of vegan dishes and cold-pressed juices. I came across their shop one time while it was traffic, and was instantly amused by their name—so I looked for them on Instagram.
A few months ago, I did a juice cleanse with Juice Jab—which was challenging, but I liked how it really tested my mental and emotional strength. Coming across Juicesabel made me think about doing a cleanse again, so I messaged them for a complete menu of their juices.
Aside from fresh cold-pressed juices, what’s really interesting about their menu is the vegan dishes. I brought this up with my officemates last week and we decided to order together and try it out. Our orders were delivered to our office building for free. We tried their Vegan Sisig with Red Rice and Seaweed Salad (Php 150). I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as I tried the salad, I was hooked. The entire dish was just so flavorful. If I’m not mistaken, the sisig was made of mushrooms—and it tasted convincingly enough like the real thing!
Juicesabel has a set dish for the day, and changes their menu every week. They also deliver for free in BGC. If you want to order, it’s best to inform them a day before (but their last call is at 7am).
Other than the Vegan Sisig, I also ordered a Pinachialada (Php 150)—which was composed of coco water, pineapple, chia seeds, and a little mint. It was so yummy, I almost downed the whole thing.
