A few days ago, SM Woman transformed SM Makati’s third floor into a giant runway that showcased its newest lines and collections. The launch also highlighted the I Am SM Woman Campaign, which celebrates womanhood in all its forms, and focused on the brand’s enormous mix of fashion-forward and minimalist pieces—offering day to night outfits that are straight-up gorgeous.
The event opened with a fashion show led by SM Woman brand ambassadors, Teresa Herrera, and my #womancrush and inspiration since Poveda days, Amina Aranaz-Alunan.
I fell in love with every single outfit that was featured, and I thought to myself, “I need to visit The SM Store soon.” To be honest, I rarely go shopping for clothes (my money usually goes to skincare and makeup products). I’m lucky enough to have Titas who love showering me with clothes, and a grandmother who loves making clothes for me. On the rare occasions that I do shop, I find myself going to the same stores—Uniqlo, H&M, and Zara.
However, the minimalist pieces that were showcased reminded me of the styles that I normally buy from these three stores, so imagine how ecstatic I was when we were told that after the show, each guest would be given Php 3,000 worth of GC’s that we could use then and there to go shopping! Like a horse with blinkers, I made a beeline for the new collection, which for two hours, were marked down to make our shopping experience even more exciting.
Models from the runway continued to go around, giving us all a closer look at what they were wearing, while a DJ played party music to get everyone in the mood.
One of the first things I picked up were these sheer black pleated pants that flared, making it look like a skirt when worn.
Another item that caught my eye was this navy blue coat, which can dress up a pair of jeans and a tank top. It complements a lot of pieces in my current wardrobe, too.
The next one I simply had to have was this cute black top that Amina Aranaz-Alunan also wore (but in white). It’s chic, and can be paired nicely with a pencil skirt and heels.
Last but not the least was this light denim-like dress that had pockets (I love dresses with pockets!). The material is lightweight and comfy, and I think it’s a very basic dress that can be played up or down, depending on how you style it.
So those were the four items I got, and I can’t wait to go back again to check for new arrivals. The prices ranged from Php 500 to Php 1,500, and it’s impressive that the material is of quality—the kind you can wear for years before retiring them.
For those of you looking to update your wardrobe, I highly recommend that you check out SM Woman in The SM Store. They’ve got a lot of super nice items that are sure to be a staple in your closet!
