Cute Cupcakes to Celebrate Our Baby Girl!

My husband and I recently had our congenital anomaly scan. Apart from feeling relieved that our baby appears normal and healthy, we also found out the gender! The sonologist asked me if I wanted to know while the scan was happening. But I asked if there was a way Cayo and I could find out together since he was just waiting outside.

He wasn’t allowed in the room due to current protocols. So the sonologist told me to close my eyes as she printed the results and sealed them in an envelope. Right before our appointment with our OB-Gyne that same morning, Cayo and I were able to open the envelope together! And we’re having a baby girl! We timed our announcement to our families days later during our second wedding anniversary dinner at home. To make things more colorful, we ordered cute cupcakes from my go-to supplier: Mau’s Cupcake!

Cute Cupcakes by Mau’s Cupcake

Mau’s Cupcake and I go way back. When I first started the blog in 2013, I wrote about her cupcake cafe in Quezon City. Eventually, when the blog turned two years old, I ordered custom cupcakes from her! It became my tradition every September whenever I celebrated my blog’s anniversary.

Continuing the tradition, I ordered cupcakes again. But this time, instead of my blog’s logo, I looked for a cute design on Pinterest for Mau to use as an inspiration. I wanted pink and blue cupcakes to keep my family guessing until we announced our baby girl. For the flavors, I stuck with my usual yema for the pink cupcakes and tried Mau’s cheesecake flavor for the blue ones.

We Can’t Wait to Meet Our Baby Girl!

To announce our baby girl to our families, we made them play a game on Kahoot to see how well they knew us and our pregnancy journey. The last question asked if they thought it was a boy or a girl. And the correct answer was, of course, a baby girl! Cayo and I didn’t really have a preference when it came to our baby’s gender. We’re just hoping and praying for a happy and healthy baby. But to be honest, I’m so excited to have a little girl I can dress up and be kikay with!

That’s it for this blog post. If ever you’re looking to have cute cupcakes made, I highly recommend Mau’s Cupcake! You can message her on Facebook or visit her website.
