Why Uniqlo Allows Me to Live Simply: Uniqlo SS 2018

If you watch my Instagram stories or raid my closet, you’ll know how often I shop at Uniqlo and how obsessed I am with their clothes. In fact, 80 to 90% of my closet now consists of Uniqlo’s basic pieces and I’ve slowly begun removing clothes that I no longer wear or clothes that are hard to mix and match (because of their print or style).

And I think this is exactly why Uniqlo allows me to live simply. I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t care how often I repeat my clothes to work—because it’s so easy to just mix and match all of Uniqlo’s comfortable pieces and still look stylish/presentable. Plus, aside from its comfort and inexpensive price tags, their clothes are all designed to be durable—so even if I wear it a dozen times, the quality never fades.

I realized this when I attended the launch of their Spring/Summer 2018 collection last March 1 at One Canvas Events Place along Chino Roces Avenue. They showcased a number of collaborations, including one with Marimekko, a Finnish company known for its unique patterns and designs.

Aside from displaying the whole Spring/Summer collection around the event space, a quick fashion show also ensued where Iya Villania-Arellano and the star of the show, her son, Primo, took center stage.
