The Perfect Summer Drink with Dolci Coffee Jelly

My family and I are huge fans of coffee jelly—in fact, my mom buys those canned ones all the time from the grocery, and from there we like to concoct different recipes such as iced coffee jelly, coffee jelly with vanilla ice cream, etc. The downsides to buying the canned ones are it doesn’t taste as fresh, it’s very soft and it easily breaks, and you have to slice it up yourself.

When Dolci Coffee Jelly introduced themselves to me, I was immediately ecstatic because the name alone sounded like music to my ears. They sent more than two dozens of bottles for my family and I to try, and we’ve been enjoying it ever since! What I like about their coffee jelly is it’s firm and chewy, just the way we all like it. It’s made with premium quality jelly and roasted coffee beans, and the syrup alone can be mixed with milk which makes preparation so quick and easy.

I tried experimenting with different recipes apart from the ones included in Dolci Coffee Jelly’s brochure. You can be incredibly creative with it! My go-to recipe is filling up a mug with the coffee jelly and syrup, adding cold skimmed milk, and voila! I’ve got a quick pick-me-upper drink to have in the morning, right before going to work.

On extremely hot days, especially now that it’s summer, my sister and I prepare it with crushed ice, milk, and vanilla ice cream. We like making two versions—one with low fat milk and one with soya milk.

My dad made his own concoction and brewed coffee, then added ice and coffee jelly. He also tried it with ice, milk, ice cream, and mixed in crushed Choc Nut! The Cupcake recommends it with buko pandan salad, as strange as it sounds. I have yet to try this! It’s such a useful ingredient for creating both summer drinks and desserts.

Dolci Coffee Jelly is kept sealed inside a glass bottle, so the quality doesn’t suffer, shelf life is long, and it tastes really fresh when you open it. You can buy a bottle for only Php 50 and it’s enough to make 2-3 glasses!

By the way, I’ll be giving away four bottles of Dolci Coffee Jelly very soon! Keep tuning in or follow me on Instagram @gretchengatan for the raffle.

Dolci Coffee Jelly is available in Landmark, Cherry Foodarama, Cash n’ Carry, selected Robinsons and Waltermart outlets nationwide. For more information, visit their website here.
