A Review on My New Lumee Case from Beyond the Box

Earlier this week, I received my very own Lumee Case from Beyond the Box and like anyone who gets excited over little surprises sent to her house, I was really looking forward to trying it out.

The first time I encountered a Lumee Case was through my youngest cousin, because it’s currently her phone case, which she uses both as a selfie light and a flashlight.

Since she’s into Snapchat more than Facebook and Instagram, she loves using it all the time to take photos and videos.

I never realized how useful it was until I tried it out for myself. I replaced my old custom phone case with the rose gold Lumee Case I was given (I love the sophisticated color!) and though my phone felt slightly heavier, I was genuinely thrilled with the features that the Lumee Case offered.

It comes with a USB wire to charge the light—I can’t really tell yet how long it lasts since I don’t use the light everyday, but it’s been five days now and I still haven’t charged it. According to my cousin, it only takes 30 to 45 minutes to charge it, and it can stay lit (if it’s in the brightest setting) for two hours straight, and up to 36 hours if it’s in the lowest setting.

I like that you can easily adjust the dimness by simply pressing and holding on to the button. To turn it on, you just click the button once and to turn it off, just click it again.

I’ve been testing it for selfies, and tonight was another testing period when I took a selfie right before the exclusive screening of Beauty And the Beast in Bonifacio High Street, where I watched it in 4DX for the first time. Notice the huge difference! It’s less grainy, and you can even see my eyes through the 3D glasses.

 It also proved to be very useful when I got home and was fishing for my house keys inside my bag. Since it was so dark inside the car, I just pressed the button with ease and found my keys right away.

If you’ve seen my selfies on Instagram, you’ll know that I use a professional ring light I bought from two years ago to make sure my photos look well-lit. But of course, it takes time to set it up. Plus I can’t exactly bring it around wherever I go—unlike the Lumee Case. So as a beauty blogger, I love having it with me all the time! If I want to take quality photos for my blog and Instagram to document my FOTD, I just simply turn on the light and take photos instantly!
