With the rise of an obsession for makeup, one thing I’ve also appreciated that brands are starting to invest in are makeup removers. Gone are the days where I used to borrow my mom’s cold cream or baby oil, just to remove the waterproof mascara I was wearing.
Thanks to an array of different makeup removers available in the market, it’s so much easier to take off even the most stubborn eyeliners and mascara.
Some people prefer having just one kind of makeup remover but me? I like having three: Micellar Water, Oil-Based, and Cleansing Wipes.
Here’s where I use each one:
MICELLAR WATER
I normally use micellar water to remove creams, foundations, and powder-based products (which also includes eyebrow products and eye shadows). This is usually my first step in removing my makeup. I like using Avene’s Micellar Water, but I know many other brands released their own like Maybelline and Biore. Avene’s Micellar Water is available in selected Watsons, Mercury Drug, and The SM Store branches.
OIL-BASED
My oil-based makeup remover is specifically for waterproof mascara and eyeliners. What I love about Biore’s Makeup Removing Oil is that it really melts off the makeup—preventing me from waking up with panda eyes the next day. I just squirt a few drops on my hand, then gently rub it against closed eyes. The circular motions help dissolve the product, making it easier to wash or wipe off. Biore is available in most drugstores nationwide.
CLEANSING WIPES
My last step to make sure all the makeup is removed is using cleansing wipes. If there are remaining particles from the mascara and eyeliner, or if there are areas of my face that I missed, the cleansing wipes take care of it. I also use it to remove my lipstick. Pixi by Petra’s Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths are pretty effective. One pack comes with 50 sheets, and it’s available at www.glamourbox.ph, Landmark Makati and Trinoma, SM Mall of Asia and Makati Department Stores, and Metro Market Market, UP Town Center and Alabang Town Center.
So those are my preferred makeup removers. I’m really happy with these three products at the moment but once I finish them off, I don’t mind experimenting with other brands just to see which ones are the most effective. What about you guys? What makeup removers do you use? Let me know in the comments so maybe I can also check those out!
