I first heard of The Cream Factory from Glamourbox, because our online boutique used to carry their products before it was pulled out last year. I also used to see their products in Snoe stores, but I heard that they were eventually pulled out as well. This made me wonder why, especially because the branding and products seemed really promising—the tagline itself is so catchy: Dessert for the Skin
When I attended their event a few weeks ago, my questions were answered! The event was held in The Real Deal Company’s office in Pasig, who is now the exclusive distributor of The Cream Factory in the Philippines.
The reason it was pulled out is because they’re changing the direction for the brand, making it a direct-selling business instead of having the products available in retail stores and online shops. It also answered my question as to why The Real Deal Company’s office was set up like a spa, with massage rooms, a sauna, and even an outdoor bamboo shower!
Direct sellers will be able to experience first-hand the products that they’ll be selling! From a marketing perspective, I think this is a really good training strategy because it allows the direct sellers to really get to know and believe in their products. And when you genuinely believe in a product, it’s much easier to sell. This is why we at Glamourbox regularly conduct staff training and makeup workshops for our beauty consultants assigned in various retail channels—it allows them to try, experience, and sell our products better!
Anyway, enough nerdy marketing talk. During the event, beauty and fashion bloggers were treated to a spa party where we also got to experience The Cream Factory’s Bath Creams and Scrub-in-a-Tubs. I was able to enjoy a foot scrub and massage, while having wine and camembert. After the massage, a short program was held to re-introduce The Cream Factory and the new direction for it!
Since the event, I’ve replaced my regular soap with The Cream Factory’s Goat’s Milk and Honey Bath Cream. Apart from the delicious smell (and name) that make me want to drink it, what really impressed me is how it made my skin softer and smoother after just one wash. In fact, I can even forego using lotion!
I’ve also been using their Scrub-in-a-Tub in Goat’s Milk and Witch Hazel once a week to exfoliate and rejuvenate my skin. It’s honestly something that I always look forward to, because it’s a quick way of pampering myself after a long and exhausting day at work.
