Breastfeeding moms know the struggle of finding pieces that are not just functional but also stylish. When I gave birth to Cambria, it slipped my mind to buy nursing wear. I felt like I didn’t need it because it was towards the height of the Omicron variant and I didn’t see us leaving the #FraggyHome anytime soon.
But now that she’s almost 7 months old and things are beginning to normalize, I’ve started buying breastfeeding clothes online. At first, I was a little discouraged because I didn’t want to always wear those cotton spandex shirts with flaps. It didn’t feel stylish enough for me. Plus I usually wore those at home like loungewear. So thank the heavens that Elin PH launched a new collection with Tricia Gosingtian that features timeless staples. It’s everything I could possibly need in my wardrobe.Elin PH x Tricia Elevates Everyday Classics
The collection is called Forever and it makes dressing up easy and effortlessly elegant. It truly captures my sense of style—since I don’t like dressing up as much in prints (except for florals!). Additionally, it allows me to play up or dress down as needed. Some of my favorites include the Walk Dress, Home Dress, Date Dress, and Everyday Dress. Had this collection been available during Cambria’s baptism last March, I would have definitely worn the Mama Dress in Winter White, Walk Dress in Winter White, or the Date Dress in Powder Blue!
Why This Collection Means So Much to Me
I can’t begin to put into words how happy the Elin PH x Tricia: Forever collection makes me feel. The designs are classic and perfect. It’s the kind I see myself wearing over and over—even if I’m no longer nursing. Plus, the material feels so nice and comfy. They’re not hot at all!
Don’t get me started on how much this collection has helped me mentally and emotionally. I’m pretty open about my challenges with motherhood and breastfeeding. As mentioned in the beginning, I struggled to find clothes that made me feel like me. I lived in muscle shirts and button-down or loose-fitting pajamas. (I still do actually.) Not that there’s anything wrong with it. But sometimes, it makes me miss getting dolled up and feeling more like myself.
And though restrictions have eased and a part of me would look forward to leaving the house once in a while to take a mental health break, I’d feel disheartened. Instead, I’d choose to stay home since I didn’t have a lot of nice, dressy nursing-friendly options. Until this collection was released.
I suddenly feel like there’s so much to look forward to. So many things I can do again—because I have clothes that make me feel beautiful and confident and at the same time, support me being a breastfeeding mother. That’s the power that these dresses hold.
How I’ve Been Wearing the Elin PH x Tricia Forever Dresses
So far, I’ve worn these dresses to Sunday mass, brunches with friends, a garden wedding, and get-togethers with family.
1. Everyday Dress in Saddle Brown
The Home Dress has invisible zippers on each side for nursing access. Moreover, it can be worn in two ways—as seen on me (above) and Tricia (below). I wore this to Sunday mass before having lunch with my family!
2. Walk Dress in Smokey Black
Elin PH x Tricia’s Walk Dress features a zipper down the middle. I felt so chic when I wore it to lunch with a group of close friends. It was so easy to nurse Cambria while eating and catching up with them!
3. Date Dress in Rust Brown
The rustic color of this Date Dress was perfect for a wedding that our little family recently attended. The bride and groom asked guests to come in a certain palette—hence our matching outfits! If you’re wondering where the nursing access is, it’s under the flap.
4. Home Dress in Wine Red
Like the Everyday Dress, you can wear the Home Dress in two ways. The first, like in the photo above (semi-boat neckline). And the second, like in the photo below (V-neckline). Again, it has invisible zippers on each side for nursing access.
