Remedy Vertis North: My Favorite Space to Have Me-Time

Hi, everyone! Welcome to another article on Greta’s Junkyard. If you’re new here, my name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada. I’m a writer and editor based in Quezon City, Metro Manila. I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of The Metro Edit, your curated source of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in the Metro.

Greta’s Junkyard is a blog I started in 2013 that serves as a dump of my favorite things. These include lifestyle, travel, home, beauty, fashion, and pet care topics! Aside from having a fun and busy career, I’m a wife to Cayo, a fur mom to Booboo and Bellatrix, and a girl mom to a toddler named Cambria. Balancing everything can be overwhelming and exhausting, so I always look forward to my much-needed me-time at Remedy Vertis North.

How I Discovered Remedy Vertis North

I first discovered them when I enrolled Cambria in the play school just one floor above. Since her classes were an hour and a half, I wanted to look for places to rest and get pampered. There were many hair and nail salons in the mall and though I love getting a mani-pedi or a foot spa, it wasn’t something I wanted to do regularly — unlike going to a skincare clinic where frequent visits would yield better results.

As if it was fate, Remedy Vertis North reached out and offered to do a collaboration with me. And who I was I to say no? I started visiting their clinic last January to get different treatments that their in-house dermatologist recommended.

What to Expect at Remedy Vertis North

On my first visit, they assessed my skin with a highly advanced machine that took my photos under different lighting. This showed me how healthy my skin was and what areas could be improved. Afterward, I had a consultation with their board-certified dermatologist, who asked me what my skin concerns were and recommended the different treatments that could address these concerns. Since my concerns were my larger pores around the nose area and my fine lines, she recommended the HydraBoost Facial and the SkinPen. She also prescribed what ingredients to add to my existing skincare routine to help enhance my skin as well.

Before and After my SkinLift! You can really see the difference.

Before and after every facial or treatment, Remedy Vertis North would take my photos in their Photo Room. This way, they can really track your progress and how much your skin improves over time.

The Facials and Treatments I’ve Tried at Remedy Vertis North

HydraBoost Facial

I often got a HydraBoost Facial especially after playing Ultimate Frisbee or tennis under the sun. It’s a gentle, hydrating facial treatment that nourishes and restores the skin while plumping and locking in moisture using a combination of advanced hydro-suction and ultrasound infusion technology. So it helps my skin recover from sun exposure and gives me a healthy glow. I can attest to how effective this facial is because on my third session, another client from the clinic randomly complimented me and said my skin looked so good. That’s how I knew the HydraBoost Facial was working!

I loved it so much that I even treated my brother-in-law to a HydraBoost days before his wedding.

SkinPen

Another treatment I got regularly was the SkinPen, and Remedy Vertis North is one of the few clinics in Metro Manila that has this. The SkinPen helped address the large pores on my nose (because of my oily skin) and significantly improved my skin tone and skin texture. I noticed that some of my dark spots lightened, too! It’s the first FDA-cleared micro-needling device that rejuvenates skin from the inside out, and delivers results that last up to six months. It basically creates micro-channels (microscopic holes) at a rate of 1,600 per second. These wounds stimulate your skin, kicking its healing process into high gear. Aside from addressing large pores and dark spots, it can also help lessen acne scars, fine lines, and neck wrinkles.

SkinLift

I only tried the SkinLift once but the results were instant! It’s one of Remedy Vertis North’s Skin Rewind Treatments, and it’s a combination of Radio Frequency and Electrical Muscle Stimulation. This combo helps tone facial muscles, give a lifted look, and enhance facial contours. I saw the Before and After photos, and you really see a difference! It felt so relaxing, too — like I was just getting a massage.

Why It’s Important For Me to Have Me-Time

I’ll save it for another story but the gist of it is that when I gave birth to Cambria, I suffered from postpartum depression and felt like I lost a huge sense of myself. It took two years for me to bounce back mentally and emotionally. And one thing I realized was that getting pampered and visiting places like Remedy Vertis North made me feel like myself again. Before the pandemic and eventually becoming a mother, I used to get facial treatments all the time! It was my way of taking care of myself and I forgot how to do this when I became a mom. This is why it’s so important for me to invest in a little me-time for myself. Because as the saying goes: “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”

I can honestly say that my collaboration with Remedy Vertis North and getting regular facial treatments from them helped improve my mental and emotional state so much. I’ve even made friends with their team and I’m so grateful for the partnership because all the self-care I was able to do truly helped me connect with myself again. Plus, plus points that my skin looks so good now, too!
