Hello, everyone! Welcome to Greta’s Junkyard, a blog I started in 2013 that serves as a dump of my favorite things. These include topics on beauty, fashion, lifestyle, travel, and more. My name is Gretchen Gatan Fragada, and I’m a writer and editor based in Metro Manila, Philippines. I’m also the founder and editor-in-chief of The Metro Edit, your curated source of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle in the Metro. Aside from a fun and busy career, I’m a wife to Cayo, a fur mom to Booboo and Bellatrix, and a girl mom to Cambria. Recently, Cayo, Cambria, and I spent three days and two nights at Anya Resort Tagaytay. And it was one of the most memorable staycations we’ve had as a family!
A Suite Upgrade
I initially booked a Junior Suite King for one night so that Cayo and Cambria could enjoy and relax while I attended a relative’s wedding with my parents, grandmother, aunts, and uncle at an event place about ten minutes away. But we were so surprised when Anya’s Experience Manager, Kevin, reached out and informed us that our suite got upgraded to the spacious and luxurious Veranda Suite! Kevin and the Resort Manager, Ms. Melody, together with their friendly staff, even welcomed us with happy smiles, delicious refreshments, and an adorable stuffed turtle named Anya handmade by their in-house seamstress.
Surprises in Our Suite
Moreover, we were allowed to check in early and check out late. On top of this, they surprised us with meaningful details around the suite that made our hearts so giddy. The first was a number 13 filled with all of Cambria’s favorite snacks — grapes, raisins, nuts, M&Ms, and more. 13 is a special number for our family because it was Cayo’s basketball jersey number as he was growing up and incidentally, it was also my softball jersey number for two decades. We even fought over it when we became teammates and co-captains in Ultimate Frisbee! And because it’s a special number, Cayo decided to ask me to be his girlfriend on December 13, 2013 (a Friday the 13th!
) and we tied the knot on September 13, 2019 (another a Friday the 13th!).The second surprise was a framed caricature of our little family in the bedroom. And the third was a Happy Father’s Day greeting for Cayo (since it was the weekend before Father’s Day). Then and there, we decided to extend our stay for one more night.
Dining Options at Anya Resort Tagaytay
Though we enjoyed the delicious and generous breakfast buffet, what our family took advantage of was the in-suite dining. We easily ordered online through the guest chat and our food would be delivered in minutes. We especially liked the Cheese Ravioli and the Burger. Our little family munched on these while catching up on Disney movies we hadn’t seen.
Kiddie Activities
While I was at the wedding, Cayo and Cambria participated in a couple of activities that Anya Resort Tagaytay prepared for little ones. These included arts and crafts and making pizza (that they got to eat after!).
Another amenity that Cambria loved was the heated pool. We swam for hours after eating breakfast on our second and third days!
My Pamper Session at Niyama Wellness
The day after the wedding, while Cayo and Cambria played, I booked the Niyama Signature Massage at Niyama Wellness, the esteemed spa in Anya Resort. I was able to try the Infrared Sauna and Floral Bath Ritual, too. It was heavenly and felt so bitin! I didn’t want my pamper session to end.
While I was getting pampered, Anya sent a personalized activity kit to our suite to keep Cambria busy!
Anya Resort Tagaytay: A Memorable Getaway
From the surprises in our spacious and cozy Veranda Suite to the delicious food to my relaxing bath and massage to the kiddie activities they prepared to the attentive and friendly staff, our stay at Anya Resort Tagaytay was one for the books. As usual, it was bittersweet for us when it was time to go. But Cayo and I kept telling each other we enjoyed our stay so much that we can’t wait to book again soon! They really set the bar when it comes to luxury stays in Tagaytay. It’s no wonder guests call them a home away from home.
