I never really noticed how much of an impact Korean beauty has made on my routine, until the K-Beauty event at our Calyxta HQ last month, where I may have splurged on a few items, including the COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence.
Since my last post on my evening skincare routine, I’ve only removed Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum and changed Burt’s Bees’ Royal Jelly Eye Cream to Innisfree’s Orchid Eye Cream (another Korean product), and Orogold’s 24k Cell Renewal Cream to Celeteque’s Anti-Wrinkle Collagen Gel.
So far, I’ve been very happy with all of the products but I felt like something was still missing ever since I took out the serum.I assessed my regimen just to see what my skincare lacked—and while I liked the effects of Celeteque’s Anti-Wrinkle Collagen Gel, I felt like I still needed to add something that would hydrate and moisturize, and I heard from my dermatologist that hyaluronic acid worked wonders—even on oily skin!
It wasn’t a very hard decision to buy COSRX‘s Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence, because I’ve heard nothing but praises for the brand. I was first introduced to it during the Watsons K-Beauty Launch, and since then, it’s grown such a cult-following.
So I bought the Hyaluronic Acid Power Essence last August, and I’ve begun incorporating it into my evening skincare routine. After washing my face, applying my toner, and putting on eye cream, I squeeze out two pumps (which is more than enough, because the consistency is thinner than a serum), pat it gently on my face, and massage it with my fingertips the way Koreans do. I then wait a minute to let my skin fully absorb the product, before applying the Anti-Wrinkle Collagen Gel.
I hadn’t really noticed the positive effects until my grandmother asked me last week if I was doing anything new, because my skin looked healthier—like I had a natural glow. So I told her about COSRX, and she was impressed with the brand. For someone who has sensitive and acne-prone skin, mine didn’t react negatively at all.
I’m so happy with the Hyaluronic Acid Power Essence, and I’m definitely buying it again when I run out. Another COSRX product I’m crazy about is their Pimple Master Patch, which I’ll try to review separately. I also have the One Step Pimple Clear Pads, but I have yet to use it—so I’ll let you guys know my thoughts once I do.
Have you guys heard of COSRX? If yes, which products do you swear by?
