Thinking Chair Studios x Greta’s Junkyard

When it comes to doing photo shoots, I can be the most awkward turtle in the planet. I normally get away with just looking at the camera and giving my hundred-watt smile, as my colleagues call it (this is one of the reasons why I can never be a fashion blogger). But recently, I did a collaboration with Thinking Chair Studios where we did a casual, street-style photo shoot that would capture my personality.

Thinking Chair Studios is the brainchild of a friend from Ultimate and climbing, Gerard Aquino. They’re a small team of photographers molded by creativity, innovation, and perseverance where their passion lies in creating uniquely personal, honest and enthusiastic photos of their subjects. They work to understand who you are and how you see yourself—to be able to immortalize your meaningful moments into memorable photos. The name Thinking Chair was inspired by the idea that everyone needs a thinking chair—it’s where you start to visualize your thoughts and eventually turn these creative concepts into reality.

Below are just some of my favorite photos from the shoot (with little stories about my outfit, or what I was doing or thinking), and how I went from awkward and uneasy to eventually warming up to the camera. Gerard made it really easy for me, because he created an atmosphere where I could be myself.

For inquiries or collaborations with Thinking Chair Studios, you can e-mail them [email protected] You can also check out their Facebook and Instagram for more photos of their subjects.
